The Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal recently gave an in-depth look at Roers Cos.’ plans for the 137-unit apartment project that is being planned in Burnsville’s Heart of the City area, as well as the senior living community that will be located a couple of miles south:
“Around 18 years ago Kent Roers moved from his hometown of Marshall into an old Burnsville apartment building to start a career in business. Since then, Roers Cos., along with his brother Brian and friend Jeff Koch, launched an apartment development company based in Long Lake, while Burnsville has rejected nearly every apartment proposal that has come near City Hall. A flip of the City Council in 2017 opened the city back up to development, and Roers Cos. has already broken ground on the city’s first rental project since 2004 and is getting ready for a second.”
